Melbourne Renegades vs Melbourne Stars Preview
The Melbourne Stars have won their last three matches to put themselves back in playoff contention. The Renegades won their last game but lost the three prior, including against the Stars. My best bet is for the Stars to win

Head to Head
The Renegades have won three of their last five but a week ago the Stars beat the Renegades by five wickets in the Big Bash League.
Melbourne Renegades Form
The Melbourne Renegades are sixth on the BBL table with three wins from seven games. They are, however, just a point below the fourth placed side.
In their last outing against the Perth Scorcher, the Renegades pulled off a four-wicket win. On a pitch that offered the bowlers some assistance, Will Sutherland took 2-22 in four overs to help restrict their hosts to 147 in 20 overs.
The chase started horribly as Tim Seifert (0), Jake Fraser-McGurk (0), Jacob Bethel (2) and Laurie Evans (0) were all dismissed with the score at 10. That put the Scorchers in the driving seat despite the below par total.
However, after a good bowling display, Will Sutherland stood up again with a superb 70 off 45 balls while he was supported by Tom Rogers who scored 49 off 31 balls. In the end the Renegades won with two balls to spare.
Melbourne Renegades Injuries & Team News
The Renegades selection has been consistent throughout, so I don’t see them changing much after a win.
Melbourne Stars Form
The Melbourne Stars are the form side in the BBL at the moment and what a turnaround it has been for them. They lost their opening five matches and looked dead and buried, but they are now on a three-match winning streak.
The Stars are right back in with a shout at the playoffs after their victory over the Sydney Sixers. Batting first, Beau Webster, on his return from international duty, scored 48 but it was Glenn Maxwell’s 58 off 32 balls that got the Stars to 156 in 20 overs.
The score was probably par for the pitch and Mark Steketee then bowled superbly, taking 3-14 in three overs to secure the 16-run victory.
Melbourne Stars Injuries & Team News
Given their recent form the Stars are unlikely to mess with the side too much.
Verdict
Melbourne Stars are backed to make it four wins in a row. Beau Webster is tipped to top score.
