Pakistan Super League to resume this week
The Pakistan Super League is likely to resume later this week after successful talks between the PCB and the six franchises taking part in the League. The League was suspended with just four League and four playoff matches remaining in response to the increasing cross-border tensions between the Pakistan and Indian governments.
The PSL and the six franchises are all eager to conclude the League as soon as possible, with the matches to be played in Pakistan, after initial reports that venues in the UAE were being considered.
A large number of overseas and Pakistan players have left the country and, due to other playing commitments, cannot return for the remaining matches. The PCB is considering staging a replacement draft to fill up the numbers of missing players.
As the League is likely to run through into the last week of May, it will impact on Bangladesh's tour of Pakistan. The Bangladesh squad will arrive on 21 May for a five-match T20I series set to start on 25 May. There will be two matches in Faisalabad, with the final three being played in Lahore.
The PCB and the Bangladesh Cricket Board are engaged in active discussions concerning the logistics of the tour.
