The daughter of William Longsword will love the step up to the mile. She gets the cheekpieces fitted for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand. Luyolo Mxothwa takes the ride and she should be hard to beat.

LILLYBELLE followed up her debut victory with an encouraging third-place finish over this C&D. The daughter of Querari settled near the rear of the field and finished her race off well. She takes a drop in class today and faces males. She looks to have ability and with Aldo Domeyer in the saddle, she can return to winning ways. 

VENI VIDI VICCI’S last start over 1400m was fair. His penultimate run when finishing second over 1600m at Kenilworth catches the eye. The son of Twice Over is bred to enjoy the 1800m and he should be cherry-ripe. If putting his best foot forward, he should return to winning ways in this small field.

Trainer Johan Janse van Vuuren holds a strong hand in this contest and can saddle the first two past the post. INSATIABLE showed good speed in her last start over 1000m on the Vaal Classic course but found one too good in the form of Lucy English who has won again since. The daughter of Querari will enjoy the extra furlong on offer. She looks to be a progressive type and can shed her maiden tag.

ETERNITY RING ran a fair race in the Grade 1 Thekwini Stakes last time. She returns from an 11-week break which may have done her the world of good. Her form prior to that race was promising. The daughter of Ideal World has ability and if the tongue-tie has the desired effect, she should return to winning ways.

PRINCESS KESH followed up her maiden win with a good second-place finish over 1800m on this course. She raced from a handy position that day and tried hard all the way to the line. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Brave Tin Soldier tries the 2200m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should take a power of beating.

OPERA GLASS finished 0.75 lengths behind SOUTHERN SONG last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights this afternoon. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She is likely to race on the speed this afternoon and can notch up her fourth career victory.

CITY BY THE SEA has won his last two starts with ease. He set the pace over this C&D last time and won with a ton in hand. The son of Elusive Fort meets a similar type of field and the hat-trick is on the cards.
