ABBACADABRA is a filly taking on the males. She showed good speed in her debut effort over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course and stayed on to finish second. The daughter of Judpot would have come on with the run under her belt and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should be the one to beat.

WILLOW EXPRESS is one of the better bets on today’s card. He was in need of his comeback run over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course. The son of Willow Magic will love the rise to the mile and should strip much fitter. He returns to Handicap Company today and should be the one to beat.

MUFASA has won both of his career efforts to date in impressive fashion. He showed good speed last time, found another kick and drew clear of the opposition. The son of What A Winter returns from a 16-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. He carries a big mass of 61.5kgs, but has class and should remain unbeaten.

MR FLOOD tried the 1450m last time and did not see out the distance. He finished 0.7 lengths behind VASEEM in his penultimate start. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won three times from four starts over this C&D. S’manga Khumalo takes the ride and he may be able to get the best out of the son of Pathfork.

I DREAM OF GENIE has run second in her three post maiden efforts. She raced from a prominent position last time, but found one too good in the form of Lucy In The Sky. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight takes a drop in class today and she should strip much fitter. Regular pilot Craig Zackey retains the ride and the combination should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.
