Boland will come out firing in this game as they have not played in the Premier Division since 2016. They will want to make their mark early, but this Cheetahs side is not one to be scoffed at. I am backing the Cheetahs to win by more than a score.

Boland were brilliant last season in the first division, winning the title to get promoted to the Currie Cup Premier Division. With that part being such a big contributor to international players over the years, it will be good to see them in the top echelons again.

That said, the Cavaliers will find it far tougher at the top of the provincial game. Players are all professional at this level, something that is not the case at the lower levels.

Looking at their squad, Boland are sure to compete during this campaign, especially when once considers that there are no internationals playing.

Boland will heavy rely on the experience of the former Springbok and Western Province scrumhalf, Louis Schreuder. They also have sevens players in David Brits and Donovan Don.

Cheetahs Form

The Cheetahs have sort of been in the wilderness over the last few years after being kicked out of the URC. They now have to rely on Currie Cup and the odd European game which has heavily impacted on their ability to retain players or bolster their squad.

Last season the Cheetahs struggled but managed a fourth-place finish. They will hope for better this time around and certainly will want to challenge for the title.

While their 2024 campaign ended at the semi-final stage, the Cheetahs have recently played against the touring Georgia side, a match the Bloemfontein-based side won 24-20.
