Bulls vs Cheetahs Preview & Tips - Easy win predicted for hosts

Cheetahs and Bulls are level at 3-3 in their last six encounters. Their game earlier this season was canceled due to COVID-19 infections.

The Bulls are top of the Currie Cup table with one match to play. They are four points clear of the Sharks so victory here will secure them home semi and final should the reach it.

As defending Currie Cup champions the Bulls are favourites to win the prize once again. They have only lost twice this season – on the opening weekend with a third string team and a few weeks ago to the Sharks.

Since losing to the Sharks, the Bulls have beaten Griquas 56-33, Lions 48-21 and Pumas 33-26.

Jake White would have liked to rest a few players this weekend ahead of the knockout matches but they had a bye last weekend and need at least two points to secure top spot.

Madosh Tambwe makes his return to wing while Cornal Hendricks and Lionel Mapoe continue in midfield. Johan Goosen starts at flyhalf against the team where he first made a name for himself.

Off the bench new signing Ruan Combrinck could make his debut.

The Cheetahs have endured a disappointing season with just three wins in their 11 matches. They were among the favourites when the tournament kicked off but their performances have not been up to scratch.

Despite the average season the Cheetahs were still in the running for the playoffs until last week. They needed to beat the Pumas but lost 28-19 in Nelspruit.

Their form leading up to last week had been decent but the narrow defeats cost them in the end. The Cheetahs lost 40-39 in Western Province, drew 44-44 against the Lions and lost 38-31 to the Sharks.

Injury prone Oupa Mahoje makes his return to the bench this weekend. The rest of the side is very much the same with Cohen Jasper starting at fullback.
