The 2021/22 United Rugby Championship got under way on 24 September 2021. This is the first year that the tournament will be played under its current name after being previously known as the Pro14.

This is due to four South African sides (Bulls, Lions, Stormers and Sharks) joining the competition. It now consists of 16 teams.

Leinster have won the last four editions of the competition and are favourites at 1.66 with bet365. They are followed by fellow Irish outfits, Munster and Ulster.

Of the new South African sides, the Bulls are priced at 17.00 to win while the Sharks, Stormers and Lions aren’t given much of a chance.

A big reason for this is that the South African sides will be without their international players for large chunks of this year’s tournament due to COVID-19 and the delayed Rugby Championship.
