Scotland have shown some quality so far in the Six Nations. A red card cost them against Wales, but that does not take anything away from their impressive showings on the pitch. Ireland have struggled in 2021, so my tip is for Scotland to beat the odds and cause an upset at Murrayfield.

Scotland have won one and lost one of their 2021 Six Nations campaign. Their last match against France was postponed after a number of French players contracted COVID-19.

On the opening weekend, Scotland caused a big shock by beating England 11-6 at Twickenham. They then hosted Wales and after dominating much of the match, they were reduced to 14 men. That allowed Wales to win 25-24.

Scotland have steadily improved over the last two years so will be keen on getting a win over Ireland in this one.

Scotland have made four changes after their heartbreaking defeat to Wales. Sean Maitland is fit again to start on the wing. Jamie Ritchie comes into the second-row while prop, WP Nel and centre, Sam Johnson both start.

Ireland’s chances of winning the 2021 Six Nations are all but over. They have lost two of their opening three matches.

A 21-16 loss to Wales on the opening weekend was followed by a 15-13 defeat to France in Dublin. Those two defeats put an end of the Irish 2021 challenge.

In their last match, Ireland thrashed Italy 48-10 in Rome. Ireland rested a few key players here but will want to carry the momentum into this Scotland fixture.

Despite scrumhalf, Conor Murray returning to fitness, Andy Farrell has stuck with Jamison Gibson-Park to partner Jonny Sexton.

The key battle of the match will be between the two flyhalves, Jonny Sexton and Scotland’s Finn Russell. Both are the talisman of their respective sides, and whoever shines on Sunday is likely to see their team win.
