Arsenal vs Everton Predictions

Arsenal end a forgetful week off the pitch by hosting Everton, who haven't won away at the Gunners since 1996 including losing the last seven trips.

With that sort of record, Arsenal at around evens would normally be odds to snap up. But the Gunners are winless in their last four home matches, so both teams to score is the best bet in this one.

Arsenal have drawn their last two at the Emirates and Everton have reeled off three stalemates in a row, so small stakes on the points being shared is tipped.

  • Arsenal are winless in their last 4 home matches (all competitions).
  • Arsenal have drawn their last 2 home matches (all competitions).
  • Arsenal have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 7 home matches (Premier League).
  • Arsenal are undefeated in their last 23 home matches against Everton since 1996 (all competitions).
  • Everton have drawn their last 3 matches (Premier League).
  • Everton are undefeated in 10 of their last 11 away matches (Premier League).

Head To Head

Arsenal lead Everton 102-58 in the head to head record from 202 matches, with 43 draws between the sides.

The Gunners haven't lost at home to Everton since 1996.

Earlier this season, Everton landed a 2-1 win at Goodison Park after a dramatic first-half.

A Rob Holding own goal put Everton in front before Nicolas Pepe equaliser from the penalty spot. But Yerry Mina won it for Everton in first-half stoppage time.

Arsenal Form

Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw by relegation-threatened Fulham last weekend to make it four home games without a win.

The Gunners needed a 97th minute equaliser from substitute Eddie Nketiah to earn a point. Josh Maja had put Fulham ahead from the penalty spot.

Mikel Arteta's side have lost to Olympiakos and Liverpool at home during their recent run, and drawn 1-1 with Slavia Prague.

Arsenal did beat Slavia 4-0 in Prague to book a place in the UEFA Europa League semi-finals, and have won away at Sheffield United 3-0 in the last two weeks.

Arsenal Team News

Arsenal have problems in attack with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out with malaria and Alexandre Lacazatte joining him on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

Eddie Nketiah could be handed a starting role after his late equaliser against Fulham.

Defenders David Luiz and Kieran Tierney are still out with injuries, but Martin Odegaard could be fit enough to return from a four-game absence.

Everton Form

Everton made it three successive draws and six games without a win when being held 2-2 at home to Tottenham on Monday.

The Toffees led 2-1 through two Gylfi Sigurdsson goals, but Harry Kane levelled mid-way through the second-half having earlier for the opener for Tottenham.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side also drew with Crystal Palace 1-1 and Brighton 0-0 in the last three games.

A run of three losses preceded the hat-trick of stalemates with Everton going down to Chelsea, Burnley and Man City.

Everton Team News

Top scorer Dominic Calvert-Lewin looks set to be available after missing the Tottenham game through injury.

Midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure is definitely out, while Andre Gomes, Allan, Fabian Delph and Bernard remain doubtful.

Centre-back Yerry Mina, who got the winner in the reverse fixture, is also unlikely to return for Everton.

Verdict

Despite having a great home record in matches against Everton, Arsenal have been poor at the Emirates of late. Therefore, a draw is predicted for this clash at the Emirates, with both teams finding the back of the net.
