How the Powerball Lotery Works

To play the Powerball, you simple need to pick five numbers, with a win possible in any one of the nine prize categories. There is a range of 1-50 in the South African Powerball, with this very different to the 1-69 in the American version. The fact there are less available numbers means there is a higher implied possibility of winning.

Players matching just one Powerball can win money, although this switch came alongside the number of balls involved in the game went up from 45 to 50. The Powerball was incredibly popular because of it's American cousin, but the South African version has only helped to elevate the love of this facet of the lottery.
