- Liudmila Samsonova Form
I am backing this to go to three sets with Swiatek to edge it in the end. Games market also holds value.
- Iga Swiatek has won 8 of her 11 Grand Slam quarterfinals.
- She holds an 11-7 record against top-20 players this season.
- Liudmila Samsonova has a 3-2 record in tour-level quarterfinals on grass.
- She is 4-3 against top-10 opponents in 2025.
Head to Head
Swiatek holds a 4-0 lead against Samsonova. They have never met on grass and the last three matches Swiatekhas won in straight sets.
Iga Swiatek Form
It is safe to say that Iga Swiatek has not had her best year to date. Her last Grand Slam title came at Roland Garros in 2024, however, her ranking is still reasonably good.
Swiatek began Wimbledon with a straight sets win over Polina Kudermetova before dropping the first set against Caty McNally but coming through in three.
Round three saw Swiatek comfortably see of Daniella Collins 6-2 6-3. Another straightforward win followed against Clara Tauson in the round of 16 as Swiatek dropped just five games.
Besides for her round two hiccup, the 24-year-old looks in very strong form coming into this match. She is certainly someone to keep an eye on should she progress to the semis.
Liudmila Samsonova Form
Liudmila Samsonova has yet to drop a set at 2025 Wimbledon, something that speaks to the kind of form she finds herself in.
The 19th ranked player dropped just 13 games in the first three rounds against Maya Joint, Yuliia Starodubtseva and Daria Kasatkina. The latter was teh first top 10 ranked player she faced.
The round of 16 was less simple, although Samsonova still managed to do it in straight sets. Jessica Bouza Maneiro challenged her every set of the way ub a 7-5 7-5 Samsonova win.
Verdict
Samsonova's superb form should make for a great contest, one where I think Swiatek will come out on top in three sets.
