The DP World Tour returns to iconic St. Andrews for the 24th edition of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, featuring a competitive field of the world's best players. Who will lift the winning trophy at the Old Course come Sunday?

Tyrrell Hatton returns to defend his title after a one-stroke victory over Nicolas Colsaerts in 2024.

The players compete across three courses for the first three days: the Old Course at St. Andrews, the Championship Course at Carnoustie and Kingsbarns Golf Links. The final round will take place on the Old Course on Sunday.

Ryder Cup winners who will tee off on Thursday include Matt Fitzpatrick, Tyrrell Hatton, Tommy Fleetwood and Robert MacIntyre, and past Major winners Cameron Smith, Louis Oosthuizen, Padraig Harrington, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, Martin Kaymer, Bubba Watson, and Danny Willett.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Matt Fitzpatrick

Matt Fitzpatrick has been in great touch on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour since July, placing T4 at the Genesis Scottish Open, T4 at the Open Championship, T8 at the Wyndham Championship, T32 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, T17 at the BMW Championship, T6 at the Betfred British Masters, 5th at the Omega European Masters, and T5 at the BMW PGA Championship.

Other noteworthy results achieved by Fitzpatrick this season include a T24 at the Sentry, a T22 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, a T23 at the Truist Championship, a T8 at the PGA Championship, a T17 at the Travelers Championship, and a T8 at the Rocket Classic.

Fitzpatrick played well on the links courses this year and has the form to win the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship for the second time.

David Puig

David Puig has been in decent nick in recent months, placing T13 in Dallas, T11 at the BMW International Open, T19 in Andalucia, and T18 in the United Kingdom, T17 in Chicago, and T4 in Indianapolis.

Additional highlights from Puig's season on the DP World Tour and LIV Golf Tour include a 3rd at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship, a T4 at the Bahrain Championship, a T6 in Riyadh, a 4th in Adelaide, a T18 in Hong Kong, a 4th in Singapore, a T14 in Miami, and a T13 in Hong Kong.

The Spaniard placed T4 overall at the 2024 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on debut.

Haotong Li

Haotong Li has been thereabouts lately, placing T4 at the Open Championship, MC at the 3M Open, T8 at the Betfred British Masters, T24 at the Omega European Masters, MC at the Amgen Irish Open, and T70 at the BMW PGA Championship.

Other prominent results achieved by Haotong Li this season include a T22 at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship, a T24 at the Bahrain Championship, a victory at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, a T16 at the South African Open Championship, a T9 at the Porsche Singapore Classic, a T4 at the Volvo China Open, a T2 at the Turkish Airlines Open, and a T4 at the Soudal Open.

Haotong Li has performed well this season and could upstage the other by winning the title at the Old Course this weekend.

Oliver Lindell

Oliver Lindell has been in fine form on the DP World Tour since August, placing T7 at the Nexo Championship, T8 at the Danish Golf Championship, T17 at the Omega European Masters, 7th at the Amgen Irish Open, and T13 at the BMW PGA Championship.

The 26-year-old will debut at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship this weekend.

Lindell has every chance to secure victory in Scotland based on his recent performances.

Verdict

Fitzpatrick has been back to his best lately and will fancy his chances to lift the trophy on the Old Course come Sunday.

Puig has threatened to produce a top result lately and should enter calculations in Scotland.

Haotong Li has had success on the DP World Tour this season and can win another title this weekend.

Lindell has been performing well lately and is the long-shot value bet at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship this weekend.
