The Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club plays host to a competitive line-up for the Omega European Masters this weekend. Which golfer will outplay the rest and be crowned champion amidst the backdrop of the Swiss Alps come Sunday?

Matt Wallace is back to defend his title after a playoff victory over Alfredo Garcia-Heredia in 2024.

Former Major winners who will tee off on Thursday include Wyndham Clark, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Danny Willett.

These are our four selections who could win the title this weekend.

Nicolai Hojgaard

Nicolai Hojgaard has found consistent form on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour lately, placing T24 at the Rocket Classic, T4 at the Genesis Scottish Open, T14 at the Open Championship, T55 at the Wyndham Championship, T34 at the Danish Golf Championship, and T2 at the Betfred British Masters last weekend.

Other notable results achieved by Hojgaard this season include a T24 at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, an 8th at the Mexico Open, a T18 at the Cognizant Classic, and a 2nd at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

The Dane has made three appearances at the Omega European Masters, finishing T29 in 2022, T5 in 2023, and MC in 2024.

Nicolai Hojgaard has the form to lift the winning trophy at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club come Sunday.

Wyndham Clark

Wyndham Clark has been thereabouts on the PGA Tour lately, placing T17 at the Travelers Championship, MC at the Rocket Classic, T11 at the Genesis Scottish Open, 4th at the Open Championship, T12 at the 3M Open, and T56 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Other noteworthy results achieved by Clark this season include finishing T15 at the Sentry, T16 at the WM Phoenix Open, T22 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and T5 at the Texas Children's Houston Open.

The former U.S. Open champion is debuting at the Omega European Masters this weekend.

Clark has been showing signs that he is ready to return to the winner's circle.

Jordan Smith

Jordan Smith has been playing solid golf on the DP World Tour recently, placing 2nd at the Volvo China Open, MC at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, T7 at the Turkish Airlines Open, T4 at the Soudal Open, MC at the Austrian Alpine Open, T61 at the U.S. Open, T28 at the Italian Open, 2nd at the BMW International Open, T22 at the Genesis Scottish Open, T45 at the Open Championship, 6th at the Nexo Championship, and T33 at the Betfred British Masters last weekend.

Additional highlights achieved by Smith this season include a T21 finish at the BMW Australian PGA Championship, T6 at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, and T24 at the Bahrain Championship.

The two-time DP World Tour winner has featured four times at the Omega European Masters, missing the cut in 2017 and 2019 before placing T20 in 2023 and T12 in 2024.

Jordan Smith has been thereabouts lately and can emerge victorious at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club this weekend.

Oliver Lindell

Oliver Lindell has been in decent nick on the DP World Tour since the beginning of June, finishing T13 at the Austrian Alpine Open, T55 at the KLM Open, T10 at the Italian Open, MC at the BMW International Open, T28 at the Open Championship, T7 at the Nexo Championship, and T8 at the Danish Golf Championship.

Other prominent performances achieved by Lindell this season include a T24 at the BMW Australian PGA Championship, a T16 at the ISPS Handa Australian Open, a T19 at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, a T14 at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, a T12 at the Turkish Airlines Open, and a T25 at the Soudal Open.

The 26-year-old will debut at the Omega European Masters this weekend.

Lindell should enter calculations in Switzerland after recording three top-ten results in five outings.

Verdict

Nicolai Hojgaard will start with confidence that he can win in Switzerland after his recent display on the DP World Tour.

Clark has been thereabouts lately and can feature prominently at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club this weekend.

Smith is playing well and offers excellent value at the Omega European Masters this weekend.

Lindell has the form to cause an upset victory over the others come Sunday.
