Taylor Fritz has played relatively well at Wimbledon but he has only managed one straight sets win thus far. That came in the round of 16 when he was up 6-1 3-0 against Jordan Thompson who then retired hurt.

Prior to that, Fritz had to come back from two sets down to win in five in round one against Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. Round two saw another five-set win against Gabriel Diallo.

In round three, Fritz only dropped one set, beating Davidovich Fokina in four sets prior to Thompson retiring hurt. Taylor Fritz looked comfortable early on in the quarterfinal against Karen Khachanov, but still dropped a set, winning in four again.

Carlos Alcaraz Form

Carlos Alcaraz began his title defence with a struggle, needing five sets to get past Italian, Fabio Fognini. However, round two was straightforward for the Spanniard, winning 6-1 6-4 6-4 against Oliver Tarvet.

Round three, Alcaraz dropped another set against Jan Lennard Struff, but comfortably won in four. Andrey Rublev was the defending champions next opponenent with another four-set match.

In the quarters, Alcaraz was back to top form as he thrashed Cameron Norrie 6-2 6-3 6-3. The form Alcarez showed in that match will be concering for Fritz.
