The RSSB Tigers are dominating the Kalahari Conference, boasting a perfect record with victories over teams like Al Ahly Benghazi and last year's finalists, Petro. Their latest wins ensure a secure spot in the quarterfinals, contrasting sharply with Nairobi City Thunder’s struggles, who have won only one of their four games. Thunder's chances of advancing in the BAL 2026 are slim due to recent defeats by teams such as Petro and Al Ahly. The upcoming game favors the Tigers as they continue their impressive streak.

RSSB Tigers are very close to clinching 1st place in the Kalahari Conference. They are favorites in terms of odds against inconsistent Nairobi City Thunder on Sunday.

Thunder Chances are Minimal

Nairobi City Thunder’s chances of reaching the BAL 2026 quarterfinals have been reduced to a minimum after winning just one of their four games so far.

They nearly caused an upset against Dar City in the opener, leading by four at halftime before falling 90-85, but responded with a 71-65 win over hosts Joburg Giants, despite scoring just 28 points in the second half.

The Kenyan champions were outplayed by Petro 97-70 earlier this week, largely due to poor rebounding (29-41), while their most recent outing ended in another convincing defeat to Al Ahly 107-80.

Tigers Flying at BAL 2026

RSSB Tigers are having a flawless tournament so far, sitting top of the Kalahari Conference with four victories in four matches, clinching a spot in the quarterfinals some time ago.

The Rwandan champions opened their campaign with a strong offensive display in a 103-95 win over Al Ahly Benghazi, with US duo Leonard Randall (37 points) and Teafale Lenard Jr (27 points) leading the way.

They followed that up with a major upset, defeating last year’s finalists Petro 82-78, with Lenard starring again with 26 points, while Mangok Mathiang added a double-double (18 points, 10 rebounds).

After beating Joburg Giants 102-89 on Wednesday, their winning streak was extended yesterday with a 104-92 victory over Dar City.
