The DP World Tour and players remain on the continent of Asia to contest the 57th edition of the Hero Indian Open. Who will win the second leg of the Asian Swing come Sunday?

Marcel Siem will not be back to defend his title after a one-stroke victory over Yannik Paul in 2023.

The prize money for the Hero Indian Open has increased to $2.25 million dollars.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Jordan Smith

Jordan Smith started his year on the DP World Tour with an outstanding T4 place at the Dubai Invitational before his form dipped, finishing T41 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, MC at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship, T56 at the Bahrain Championship and MC at the SDC Championship.

However, Smith has bounced back to form, placing T2 at the Jonsson Workwear Open and T21 at the recent Porsche Singapore Classic.

The Englishman golfer has made one appearance at the Hero Indian Open, placing T17 overall in 2017.

Smith has looked good in his last two starts and has the game to come out on top in India.

Ewen Ferguson

Ewen Ferguson has been producing top results since the end of January, placing T23 at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship, T9 at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, T7 at the Magical Kenya Open, T20 at the SDC Championship, T23 at the Jonsson Workwear Open and T11 at the Porsche Singapore Classic last weekend.

Before that, Ferguson struggled with his game at the start of the season on the DP World Tour, with results of MC at the Investec South African Open Championship, W/D at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, T11 at the Dubai Invitational and MC at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

The 27-year-old Scotsman is making his debut at the Hero Indian Open.

Ferguson has done nothing wrong and has the form to lift the trophy in Delhi this weekend.

Sebastian Soderberg

Sebastian Soderberg had an excellent beginning to his season on the DP World Tour, finishing T3 at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, T23 at the Dubai Invitational and T41 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

Soderberg has maintained his level of play during his subsequent four tournaments, placing T9 at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship, T6 at the Bahrain Championship, T55 at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, and T21 at the recent Porsche Singapore Classic.

The 33-year-old Swede has featured twice at the Hero Indian Open, finishing T58 in 2017 and missing the cut in 2019.

Soderberg has had three top-ten results this season and can take home the winner's cheque come Sunday.

Frederic LaCroix

Frederic LaCroix was in great touch on the DP World Tour towards the end of last year, placing T17 at the Joburg Open, T5 at the Investec South African Open Championship, 3rd at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship, and T4 at the Bahrain Championship.

LaCroix's form has dipped since those promising performances, with results of MC at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, T50 at the Magical Kenya Open, and T65 at the Porsche Singapore Classic last weekend.

The Frenchman finished T57 at the 2023 Hero Indian Open on debut.

LaCroix has been thereabouts to winning his maiden DP World Tour title and is the long-shot value bet at the DLF Golf & Country Club.

Verdict

Smith has threatened to put in a winning performance on the DP World Tour lately and will fancy his chances in India.

Ferguson has been knocking hard and has claims for the title at the DLF Golf & Country Club this weekend.

Soderberg can convert his consistent results into a winning one in Delhi come Sunday.

LaCroix can cause an upset victory at the Hero Indian Open if he can reproduce the form he showed at the start of the season.
