The LIV Golf Invitational Series and a world-class line-up returns to Asia for the inaugural event in South Korea  this weekend. Who will walk away with the honours come Sunday?

The Jack Nicklaus Golf Club was the host venue for the 2015 Presidents Cup and the 2024 Genesis Championship on the DP World Tour.

Current top-ten in the individual points standings after six rounds:

1. Joaquin Niemann 124.66 pts
2. Jon Rahm 94.36 pts
3. Sergio Garcia 78 pts
4. Lucas Herbert 67.40 pts
5. Bryson DeChambeau 65.35 pts
6. Sebastian Munoz 65.20 pts
7. David Puig 59.25 pts
8. Marc Leishman 57.66 pts
9. Dean Burmester 55.41 pts
10. Charl Schwartzel 50.16 pts

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Jon Rahm

Jon Rahm missed the cut in his opening tournament of the season at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic on the DP World Tour.

Rahm has been ultra-consistent in the LIV Golf League since that performance, placing T2 in Riyadh, 6th in Adelaide, T6 in Hong Kong, T5 in Singapore, T9 in Miami, T14 at the Masters, and 4th in Mexico City last weekend.

Rahm can convert his recent results into victory at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club this weekend.

Cameron Smith

Cameron Smith was in decent nick at the start of his season on the DP World Tour, placing 2nd at the  BMW Australian PGA Championship and T39 at the ISPS Handa Australian Open.

After those results, Smith returned to the LIV Golf Tour, finishing T25 in Riyadh, 30th in Adelaide, T20 in Hong Kong, and T19 in Singapore.

However, Smith has regained his touch lately, placing T9 in Miami, MC at the Masters, and T5 in Mexico City in his subsequent three tournaments.

Smith has been in better shape lately and can win the title in South Korea this weekend.

Lucas Herbert

Lucas Herbert was in decent nick at the start of his season on the DP World Tour and LIV Golf League, finishing T43 at the BMW Australian PGA Championship, T5 at the ISPS Handa Australian Open, T4 in Riyadh on the LIV Golf Tour, T31 in Adelaide, T21 at the New Zealand Open (PGA Tour of Australasia)

Herbert has raised his game lately, placing 4th in Hong Kong, T14 in Singapore, T8 at the International Series in Macau, T18 in Miami, and T2 in Mexico City last weekend.

Herbert has threatened to win a title lately and can lift the winning trophy at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club come Sunday.

Sebastian Munoz

Sebastian Munoz had a strong start to his season, finishing T5 at the International Series in India (Asian Tour)

Munoz has continued to play well on his return to the LIV Golf Tour, placing T2 in Riyadh, 45th in Adelaide, T6 in Hong Kong, T5 in Singapore, T14 at the International Series in Macau (Asian Tour), T21 in Miami, and T7 in Mexico City

Munoz is showing signs he is ready to land in his maiden LIV Golf League tournament this weekend.

Format

An invitational field of 54 golfers will feature at the tournament, with a total purse of $25 million up for grabs. $4 million will go to the winner, while the player coming in last will pocket $50,000.

The players will contest 54 holes instead of 72 for all the LIV Golf Invitational Series events.

A shotgun start will occur, where the players will tee off simultaneously from different holes.

A 13-four-man team (four players each and two wild-card players) format will run concurrent, with the top three teams earning prize money.

Verdict

Rahm has been knocking hard this season and can get over the finish line at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club come Sunday.

Smith appears to have turned the corner in recent outings and will be challenging for the title this weekend.

Herbert comes into this LIV Golf Tour event in great touch and will fancy his chances of victory.

Munoz has done nothing wrong lately and can emerge victorious in South Korea.
