The Rocket Classic Predictions - Top contenders for victory in Detroit

The tournament takes place at the Detroit Golf Club, Michigan, Detroit.

The PGA Tour and a competitive field of the world's best golfers return to the Detroit Golf Club to compete for the Rocket Classic title this weekend. Who will win in Michigan come Sunday?

Cameron Davis returns to defend his title after a one-stroke victory over Akshay Bhatia, Min Woo Lee, Aaron Rai, and Davis Thompson in 2024.

Past Major winners in the field include Keegan Bradley, Wyndham Clark, Matt Fitzpatrick, Zach Johnson, Hideki Matsuyama, Francesco Molinari, Collin Morikawa, Webb Simpson, Danny Willett, and Gary Woodland.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Patrick Cantlay

Patrick Cantlay was in excellent form at the start of his season, placing T15 at the Sentry, T5 at the American Express, T33 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, and T5 at the Genesis Invitational.

Cantlay could not maintain his level of play in his subsequent four events, finishing T31 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, T12 at the Players Championship, T33 at the Valero Texas Open, and T36 at the Masters.

However, Cantlay has improved his performances lately, placing T13 at the RBC Heritage, T4 at the Truist Championship, MC at the PGA Championship, T12 at the Memorial Tournament, MC at the U.S. Open, and T12 at the Travelers Championship last weekend.

The eight-time PGA Tour winner placed T2 at the Rocket Classic in 2022.

Cantlay is showing signs he is ready to add another trophy to his cabinet with victory in Detroit this weekend.

Ben Griffin

Ben Griffin battled to find any rhythm to his game in his first 11 tournaments on the new PGA Tour season, with his best results being a T7 at the American Express, a T4 at the Mexico Open, and a T4 at the Cognizant Classic.

Griffin has found another gear since the end of March, placing T18 at the Texas Children's Houston Open, T40 at the Valero Texas Open, victory at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, MC at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, T46 at the Truist Championship, T8 at the PGA Championship, victory at the Charles Schwab Challenge, 2nd at the Memorial Tournament, T10 at the U.S. Open, and T14 at the Travelers Championship last weekend.

The American golfer has made two appearances at Rocket Classic, finishing T33 in 2022 and T31 in 2024.

Griffin has been playing well lately and can win in Michigan this weekend.

Harry Hall

Harry Hall began well at the beginning of his season on the PGA Tour, placing T8 at the Sentry, T10 at the Sony Open in Hawaii, and T21 at the American Express.

Hall's form dipped after those results, finishing T58 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, MC at the WM Phoenix Open, T34 at the Mexico Open, MC at the Cognizant Classic, and MC at the Players Championship.

However, Hall has regained his touch lately, placing T18 at the Texas Children's Houston Open, T26 at the Valero Texas Open, T49 at the Corales Puntacana Championship, T33 at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, T20 at the Myrtle Beach Classic, T19 at the PGA Championship, T6 at the Charles Schwab Challenge, T24 at the RBC Canadian Open, and T9 at the Travelers Championship.

The Englishman missed the cut at the 2023 Rocket Classic on debut before finishing T31 in 2024.

Hall has the form to upstage the others with victory in Detroit this weekend.

Cameron Young

Cameron Young struggled during his first 12 starts on the 2025 PGA Tour season, missing the cut on six occasions, with his best results being a T8 at the Sentry, a T12 at the WM Phoenix Open, and a T18 at the Valero Texas Open.

Since those results, Young has been in better shape, placing T7 at the Truist Championship, T47 at the PGA Championship, T25 at the Memorial Tournament, T4 at the RBC Canadian Open, T4 at the U.S. Open before finishing T52 at the Travelers Championship last weekend.

The 28-year-old American has featured twice at Rocket Classic, placing T2 in 2022 and T6 in 2024.

Young has had two top-five results in three starts and can challenge for the title at the Detroit Golf Club if he can replicate those performances.

Verdict

Rocket Classic

Cantlay has shown signs that he is about to register another PGA Tour title and can win at the Detroit Golf Club this weekend.

Griffin has the form to win this third title in Michigan come Sunday.

Hall has been posting solid results and can secure victory at the Rocket Classic come Sunday.

Young has improved his game lately and offers excellent value in Michigan this weekend.
