The Catalunya Championship returns to the DP World Tour schedule for the first time since 2022, where a competitive field will compete for top honours this weekend. Who will emerge victorious come Sunday?

Adri Arnaus is back to defend his title after a playoff victory over Oliver Bekker in 2022.

Former Open Champion Francesco Molinari is in the line-up.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra

Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra had a solid start to his season on the DP World Tour, placing T28 at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, 3rd at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, T25 at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, and T15 at the Dubai Invitational.

The Spaniard's form dipped after those performances, recording an MC at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, a T41 at the Bahrain Championship, and an MC at the Qatar Masters.

However, Lopez-Chacarra has improved lately, finishing T21 at the Puerto Rico Open (PGA Tour), MC at the Hainan Classic, 2nd at the Hero Indian Open, T9 at the Tulum Championship (Korn Ferry Tour), T33 at the Volvo China Open, and T18 at the Turkish Airlines Open last weekend.

Lopez-Chacarra has been in solid form lately and will want to win the Catalunya Championship in front of the Spanish fans this weekend.

Jacob Olesen

Jacob Olesen did not have the best beginning to his season on the DP World Tour, finishing T40 at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, T40 at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, MC at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, T30 at the Dubai Invitational, MC at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, and T47 at the Bahrain Championship.

However, Olesen has regained his touch lately, placing T3 at the Qatar Masters, T5 at the Magical Kenya Open, T63 at the Investec South African Open Championship, T36 at the Joburg Open, T16 at the Hero Indian Open, T4 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, and T4 at the Turkish Airlines Open last weekend.

Olesen has been knocking hard in recent outings and will fancy his chances to win the title at Real Club de Golf El Prat this weekend.

Nathan Kimsey

Nathan Kimsey did not have much success at the beginning of his season on the DP World Tour, missing the cut at the BMW Australian PGA Championship and the Crown Australian Open before finishing T32 at the Alfred Dunhill Championship.

Kimsey soon bounced back to form, placing T25 at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, T9 at the Bahrain Championship, T24 at the Qatar Masters, T5 at the Magical Kenya Open, T9 at the Investec South African Open Championship, and T12 at the Joburg Open.

The 33-year-old struggled in his next two events, missing the cut at the Hainan Classic and the Hero Indian Open before placing T6 at the Volvo China Open, and T29 at the Turkish Airlines Open last weekend.

Kimsey can lift the trophy at Real Club de Golf El Prat on Sunday, as he has played well this year.

Darius van Driel

Darius van Driel struggled with his game during the opening months of the new DP World Tour season.

The Dutchman finished T53 at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, T46 at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, T42 at the Dubai Invitational, T10 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, MC at the Bahrain Championship, MC at the Magical Kenya Open, T50 at the Investec South African Open Championship, T62 at the Joburg Open, and T34 at the Hainan Classic.

However, van Driel appears to have turned the corner, placing T18 at the Hero Indian Open, T8 at the Volvo China Open, and T4 at the Turkish Airlines Open last weekend.

Van Driel is showing signs that he is ready to win another DP World Tour title after his recent performances.

Verdict

Lopez-Chacarra will relish the opportunity to win a DP World Tour tournament in his homeland this weekend.

Olesen has been in great touch lately and can win the Catalunya Championship come Sunday.

Kimsey has performed well this season and can secure victory at Real Club de Golf El Prat come Sunday.

Van Driel has the form to cause an upset victory in Barcelona this weekend.
