Portugal vs Uzbekistan Predictions

Portugal lacked the finishing touch in their opening FIFA World Cup match but are on a lengthy unbeaten run. Uzbekistan were outplayed in their previous match and are struggling to win. Portugal are predicted to win to nil.

  • Portugal have won 4 of their last 6 fixtures.
  • Portugal have scored 7 goals in 5 matches.
  • Portugal have conceded 3 goals in 5 games.
  • Uzbekistan have lost 3 consecutive fixtures.
  • Uzbekistan have scored 5 goals in 5 games.
  • Uzbekistan have conceded 8 goals in 5 matches.

Head to Head

Portugal and Uzbekistan will meet for the first time in a competitive match.

Portugal Form

Portugal dropped vital points in their opening FIFA World Cup Group K match against DR Congo, drawing 1-1 on Wednesday.

A Seleção had 75% possession and nine shots in the game, with three attempts on target.

Before that disappointing result, Seleção das Quinas had success in two warm-up matches at the beginning of June, beating Chile 2-1 and Nigeria 2-1.

Portugal faced the co-host nations Mexico and the USA in back-to-back friendlies in March. They drew 0-0 and won 2-0, respectively.

A Seleção have won three of their last five matches, with two draws. They scored seven goals and conceded three.

Portugal will fancy their chances of getting their World Cup campaign back on track when they take on Uzbekistan in Group K, as they are unbeaten in their last six matches, which include four victories.

Uzbekistan Form

Uzbekistan had no answer in their opening group-stage match against Colombia, losing 3-1 on Thursday.

The White Wolves had 33% possession and seven shots in the game, with three attempts on target.

Before that, the Turanians faced Canada and the Netherlands in two World Cup warm-up matches ahead of the global showpiece, losing 2-0 and 2-1, respectively.

In March, Uzbekistan competed in a FIFA Series event, beating Gabon 3-1 and Venezuela 5-4 on penalties after the score ended 0-0.

The White Wolves have registered three defeats in their last five fixtures, with two victories. They scored seven goals and conceded three.

Uzbekistan come into their match against Portugal on the back of three consecutive defeats, which is not ideal form to have if they wish to secure all the points on offer.
