A strong line-up of the world's best golfers returns to the Bahamas to compete in the 26th edition of the Hero World Challenge this weekend.  Who will pocket the winner's cheque at the Albany Golf Club come Sunday?

Scottie Scheffler returns to defend his title after recording a six-stroke victory over Tom Kim in 2024. 

Past and present Major winners in the line-up include Scottie Scheffler, J.J.Spaun, Wyndham Clark, Brian Harman, Hideki Matsuyama, Keegan Bradley, Justin Rose, and Jordan Spieth.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Robert MacIntyre


Robert MacIntyre has been on top of his game on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour since mid-August, placing 2nd at the BMW Championship, T17 at the Tour Championship, MC at the BMW PGA Championship, victory at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, T9 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, and T8 at the DP World Tour Championship.

Other notable results achieved by MacIntyre this year include a T15 finish at the Sentry, T17 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, T6 at the WM Phoenix Open, T11 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, 9th at the Players Championship, T9 at the Porsche Singapore Classic, T6 at the Charles Schwab Memorial, T20 at the Memorial Tournament, 2nd at the U.S. Open, T17 at the Travelers Championship, and T7 at the Open Championship.

The world's seventh-ranked golfer finished 7th overall at the Hero World Challenge last year.

MacIntyre will aim to cap off his year with a victory at the Albany Golf Club this weekend.

Cameron Young


Cameron Young has been in excellent touch on the PGA Tour since August, winning the Wyndham Championship and placing 5th at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, 11th at the BMW Championship, T4 at the Tour Championship, and T9 at the Procore Championship. 

Additional highlights from Young's year include a T8 at the Sentry, a T12 at the WM Phoenix Open, a T18 at the Valero Texas Open, a T7 at the Truist Championship, a T25 at the Memorial Tournament, a T4 at the RBC Canadian Open, and a T4 at the U.S. Open. 

The 28-year-old American has featured three times at the Hero World Challenge, placing 3rd in 2022, 15th in 2023, and 13th in 2024.  

Young has the form to record his second victory of 2025 this weekend. 

J.J. Spaun


J.J. Spaun has been performing well on the PGA Tour in his last five starts, placing 2nd at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, T23 at the BMW Championship, T25 at the Tour Championship, 6th at the Procore Championship, and T11 at the World Wide Technology Championship. 

Other noteworthy results achieved by Spaun this year include a T3 at the Sony Open in Hawaii, a T2 at the Cognizant Classic, a 2nd at the Players Championship, a T17 at the Truist Championship, a T6 at the Charles Schwab Challenge, a victory at the U.S. Open, a T14 at the Travelers Championship, and a T23 at the Open Championship. 

The world's sixth-ranked player will make his debut at the 2025 Hero World Challenge. 

Spaun has the game to secure his second tournament victory of the year in the Bahamas this weekend. 

Sam Burns


Sam Burns has been in solid form on the PGA Tour in recent outings, placing T4 at the BMW Championship, T7 at the Tour Championship, and T13 at the Procore Championship.

Other prominent performances achieved by Burns this year include a T8 at the Sentry, a T22 at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, a T24 at the Genesis Invitational, a T13 at the RBC Heritage, a T5 at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, a T30 at the Truist Championship, a T19 at the PGA Championship, a T12 at the Memorial Tournament, a 2nd at the RBC Canadian Open, a T7 at the U.S. Open, and a T17 at the Travelers Championship.

The five-time PGA Tour winner has made four appearances at the Hero World Challenge, placing T3 in 2021, 12th in 2022, 16th in 2023, and T14 in 2024.

Burns will fancy his chances of taking the title at the Albany Golf Club, as he has had two top-ten finishes in his last three starts.

Verdict

MacIntyre has been in outstanding form of late and can win the Hero World Challenge this weekend.

Young has been holding form since his maiden PGA Tour victory and will fancy his chances in the Bahamas.

Spaun has kept up his form since his last victory and looks set to challenge for the title at the Albany Golf Club on Sunday.

Burns has been playing well lately and has a chance of winning the title this weekend.
