ZARINA produced a decent comeback run over this C&D, five weeks ago. She raced from a prominent position and stayed on nicely at the finish. The daughter of Master Of My Fate would have come on with the run under her belt and should strip much fitter. She is the only Grade 1 winner in this contest and should take a power of beating.
Race 5 - WAITING FOR SUMMER (7)
WAITING FOR SUMMER ran a fair race in the Grade 2 Concorde Cup last time. He has won once and finished second once from three starts over this C&D. The son of Noble Tune is the best weighted runner in this contest and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he can notch up his fourth career victory.
Race 6 - SCENTED MISTRESS (3)
SCENTED MISTRESS ran a fair race in the Grade 3 Victress Stakes last time. She has finished second once and third once from three starts over this distance. Bernard Fayd’Herbe steps back into the saddle and from her good draw of two, she can return to winning ways.
Race 7 - CAPITANA (2)
CAPITANA finished 0.2 lengths behind stable companion KITTY CAT CHAT last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has won three times and finished second three times from seven starts over this C&D. The daughter of Captain Al always gives of her best and she should notch up her seventh career victory.
Race 8 - WINTER FURI (6)
WINTER FURI’S last two starts have been decent. She was slow into stride over 1000m last time, but stayed on nicely at the finish. She has finished second once and third once from three starts over this C&D. She is having her peak run this afternoon and with Grant van Niekerk back in the saddle, she can return to winning ways.
