Golden Operator is the top contender for Race 2, expected to dominate with a win. Asiah’s Tiara is set on earning its first victory in Race 3, offering intriguing prospects. Race 6 features Poplar Park aiming for another podium finish. The highlight, however, is Race 8, where the competition is expected to be intense, possibly thrilling spectators to the very end. Predictions suggest Nuclear Force as a strong contender in this race, making it one to watch for racing enthusiasts.

  • A well-rested Golden Operator should take the tape by a length in Race 2.
  • Asiah’s Tiara is chasing a first win in Race 3.
  • Poplar Park to keep her top 3 form rolling in Race 6.
  • Race 8 is too close to call, but I’m watching out for Nuclear Force to explode down the home straight.

Best Bet of the Day

  • Best Bet of the Day
  • Race 2 – Golden Operator (8)
  • Race 3 – Asiah’s Tiara (1)
  • Race 6 – Poplar Park (7)
  • Race 8 – Nuclear Force (8)

Race 2 – Golden Operator (8)

Jockey: Craig Zackey | Trainer: Sean Tarry
It’s a debut for the 4-year-old bay gelding Major Arcana (11.0), so he could upset the formbook. Firm favourite is the three-year-old Golden Operator (1.67), fresh from 112 days with his feet up, after placing 2-3 in May and June.

Race 3 – Asiah’s Tiara (1)

Jockey: Trent Mayhew | Trainer: Craig Mayhew
A 13-horse field features favourites Ethical (3.25) and Councillor (2.38), but I’m liking Asiah’s Tiara (8.00) coming from Gate 1. The 4-year-old bay filly has had a busy year and has featured in the top 5 in her last six races. She came third in her last race a fortnight ago, just two nods off first place having chased winner Copper Plate and Military Moves hard over the final 400m.

Race 6 – Poplar Park (7)

Jockey: M Yeni | Trainer: Robbie Sage
Twostep Queen (2.63) is a good call for a top 3 place (if not the win) having grabbed two wins in her last four races. She’s had a heavy workload, so I’m backing Poplar Park (5.00) to burst out of her 219-day break to take the win. She has two 3rd places and three wins from her last five runs, so she has a head for the finish line.

Race 8 – Nuclear Force (8)

Jockey: Callan Murray | Trainer: Erico Verdonese
What a tight field this is… with seven horses in with a strong shout. Arlington Action (7.0), Romeo’s Magic (8.0), Nuclear Force (8.0), Royal Mazarin (8.0), Trident King (6.0), Rosy Lemon (6.0) and Cartagena (6.0). You’ll probably have better luck picking a winner blindfolded, but if I have to choose I’d back Erico Verdonese’s Nuclear Force to take it by a nostril. The 6-year-old bay gelding has been on holiday for 115 days, and her last four finishes include 2-5-1-3 placings.

Verdict

Golden Operator should have the legs to dominate Race 2, while Asiah’s Tiara wants a first win in Race 3.

Poplar Park hit year another podium in Race 6, but Race 8 should be a thriller down to the last stride.
