The industrious central midfielder played 397 games for Kaizer Chiefs from 1986 to 2004, the last two years of which was as player/coach. Affectionately known as ‘The Doctor’, Khumalo also played for Bafana Bafana on 50 occasions, scoring nine goals in the process and featured in the 1998 FIFA World Cup where South Africa failed to make it beyond the group stage.
