Oliver Tarvet vs Carlos Alcaraz Predictions

Carlos Alcaraz had a tough first round match against Fognini and will see this as an opportunity to get off the court as quickly as possible. I am backing the world No.1 to find his rhythm with a win in under 28.5 games.

Oliver Tarvet Form

Oliver Tarvet is perhaps not a name many have heard about, but the Brit will have plenty of support out on centre court against the defending champion. With no expectations, he can have a real go at Alcaraz, which is a dangerous proposition for the champion.

Tarvet came through the qualifiers at Wimbledon, winning two of his three matches in straight sets. His final game was won in four sets.

In the first round, Tarvet secured a straight sets 6-4 6-4 6-4 victory over the more fancied Leandro Riedi. Confidence will be sky high for Tarvet on Wednesday.

Carlos Alcaraz Form

Carlos Alcaraz enjoyed another superb year in 2025, winning one title after another. He is also the recently crowned French Open champion after a spectacular comeback win over Jannik Sinner in the final.

Prior to Wimbledon, the world No.1 was victorious in the HSBC Championships, beating Jiri Lehecka in the final. While Alcaraz dropped a set, he always looked comfortable in the match.

However, Carlos Alcaraz didn’t have it all his own way in the first round at Wimbledon against Fabio Fognini. The veteran Italian took Alcaraz to five sets, a match Alcaraz eventually won 7-5 6-7 7-5 2-6 6-1.

Verdict

Alcaraz is backed to win this match in under 28.5 games.
