A competitive field featuring the world's elite women golfers returns to the scenic Evian Golf Club to compete in the Evian Championship this weekend. Who will claim victory in golf's only Major to played in Europe come Sunday?

Ayaka Furue is back to defend her title after a one-stroke victory over Stephanie Kyriacou in 2024

Past and present Major winners in the field for Thursday's tee-off include Minjee Lee, Maja Stark, Yuka Saso, Nelly Korda, Mao Saigo, Lilia Vu, Jennifer Kupcho, Patty Tavatanakit, Allisen Corpuz, A Lim Kim, Ayaka Furue, Celine Boutier, Lydia Ko, Ashleigh Buhai, Sophia Popov, Amy Yang, Ruoning Yin, In Gee Chun, Sei Young Kim, Hannah Green, Brooke M. Henderson, and Anna Nordqvist.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Nelly Korda

Nelly Korda had a decent start to her season on the LPGA Tour, finishing 2nd at the Hilton Grand Tournament of Champions, T7 at the Founders Cup, T22 at the Ford Championship, and T28 at the T-Mobile Match Play.

Korda has been in consistent form since those results, placing T16 at the JM Eagle LA Championship, T14 at the Chevron Championship, T5 at the Mizuho Americas Open, T9 at the U.S. Women's Open, T15 at the Shoprite LPGA Classic, and T19 at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.
The number-one-ranked player has made seven appearances at the Evian Championship, with results of MC in 2017, T61 in 2018, T25 in 2019, T19 in 2021, T8 in 2022, T9 in 2023, and T26 in 2024.

Nelly Korda has been showing signs she is ready to win another Major and can secure the title at the Evian Resort Golf Club this weekend.

Ruoning Yin

Ruoning Yin was not performing well at the beginning of her season, with results of MC at the PIF Saudi Ladies International, T26 at the Honda LPGA Thailand, T21 at the HSBC Women's World Championship, T33 at the Blue Bay LPGA, T56 at the Ford Championship, and T53 at the T-Mobile Match Play.

However, Ruoning Yin has been back to her best on the LPGA Tour lately, placing T2 at the Chevron Championship, T2 at the Black Desert Championship, T15 at the Mizuho Americas Open, T4 at the U.S. Women's Open, and T23 at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.
The world's fourth-ranked player missed the cut at the 2023 Evian Championship on debut.

Ruoning Yin will fancy her chances of winning the title as she comes into this Major on the back of three top-five results in five tournaments.

Lydia Ko

Lydia Ko was in great touch at the beginning of her season on the LPGA Tour, placing 6th at the Hilton Grand Tournament of Champions, T48 at the Founders Cup, victory at the HSBC Women's World Championship, and T6 at the Ford Championship.

Ko's form dipped after those results, finishing T35 at the T-Mobile Match Play, T52 at the Chevron Championship before placing T11 at the Mizuho Americas Open, T26 at the U.S. Women's Open, and T12 at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.

The world's third-ranked golfer has an excellent record at the Evian Championship, securing victory in 2015 and finishing T28 in 2014, T43 in 2016, T3 in 2017, T10 in 2018, MC in 2019, T6 in 2020, T3 in 2022, T61 in 2023, and T39 in 2024.

Lydia Ko has a chance of victory in France if she can replicate her form from earlier in the year.

Angel Yin

Angel Yin was in excellent touch during their opening six events of her season, placing T18 at the Hilton Grand Tournament of Champions, 10th at the Founders Cup, victory at the HONDA LPGA Thailand, W/D from the HSBC Women's World Championship, T13 at the Ford Championship, and T3 at the T-Mobile Match Play.

Angel Yin has continued to produce solid results since those performances, finishing T37 at the JM Eagle LA Championship, 13th at the Chevron Championship, MC at the Mizuho Americas Open, T9 at the U.S. Women's Open, and T19 at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.

The world's 17th-ranked player has achieved mixed results at the Evian Championship, with results of MC in 2017, T69 in 2018, MC in 2019, T48 in 2021, WD in 2022, T20 in 2023, and MC in 2024.

Angel Yin has played well in the Majors this season and could cause an upset victory in France this weekend.
