The Scottish Open Predictions - Top contenders for victory in Scotland

A competitive field of the world's top golfers returns to the Renaissance Club to battle it out for the title at the Scottish Open this weekend. Who will triumph in the penultimate event before the Open Championship?

Robert MacIntyre returns to defend his title after a one-stroke victory over Adam Scott in 2024. 

Past and present Major winners who will tee off on Thursday include J.J. Spaun, Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas, Brian Harman, Wyndham Clark, Matt Fitzpatrick, Padraig Harrington, Collin Morikawa, Francesco Molinari, Justin Rose, Adam Scott, Danny Willett, and Gary Woodland.

These are our selections that could win the title this weekend.

Tommy Fleetwood


Tommy Fleetwood has been in tremendous touch on the PGA Tour lately, placing T21 at the Masters, 7th at the RBC Heritage, T4 at the Truist Championship, T41 at the PGA Championship, T4 at the Charles Schwab Challenge, T16 at the Memorial Tournament, MC at the U.S. Open, and T2 at the Travelers Championship. 

Other prominent performances achieved by Fleetwood in 2025 include a T21 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic (DP World Tour), a T22 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, a T5 at the Genesis Invitational, a T11 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, a T14 at the Players Championship, and a T16 at the Valspar Championship.

The seven-time DP World Tour winner has a long history at the Scottish Open, with results of MC in 2012, T11 in 2013, 75th in 2014, T10 in 2015, T62 in 2016, 2nd in 2020, T26 in 2021, T4 in 2022, T6 in 2023, and T34 in 2024. 

Fleetwood has been knocking hard lately and has claims for the title at the Renaissance Club this weekend.

Collin Morikawa


Collin Morikawa has been thereabouts on the PGA Tour lately, finishing T17 at the Truist Championship, T50 at the PGA Championship, T20 at the Memorial Tournament, T23 at the U.S. Open, T42 at the Travelers Championship, and T8 at the Rocket Classic. 

Other noteworthy performances achieved by Morikawa this season include placing 2nd at the Sentry, T17 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, T17 at the Genesis Invitational,  2nd at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, T10 at the Players Championship, and T14 at the Masters. 

The world's fifth-ranked golfer has featured three times at the Scottish Open, finishing T44 in 2020, T71 in 2021, MC in 2022, and T4 in 2024. 

Morikawa appears to have turned the corner in his previous start and did well at the Renaissance Club last year. 

Sam Burns 


Sam Burns has been playing well on the PGA Tour lately, placing T13 at the RBC Heritage, T5 at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, T30 at the Truist Championship, T19 at the PGA Championship, T12 at the Memorial Tournament, 2nd at the RBC Canadian Open, T7 at the U.S. Open, and T17 at the Travelers Championship.

Other notable results achieved by Burns this year include a T8 at the Sentry, a T22 at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, and a T24 at the Genesis Invitational. 

The five-time PGA Tour winner has made three appearances at the Scottish Open, finishing T18 in 2021, T66 in  2022, and T19 in 2023. 

Burns has been threatening to record another victory and has claims for the title in Scotland this weekend.

Corey Conners


Corey Conners has produced consistent results on the PGA Tour since March, placing 3rd at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, T6 at the Players Championship, T8 at the Valspar Championship, T18 at the Valero Texas Open, T8 at the Masters, T49 at the RBC Heritage, T11 at the Truist Championship, T19 at the PGA Championship, T25 at the Memorial Tournament, T27 at the RBC Canadian Open before withdrawing from the U.S. Open. 

Additional highlights achieved by Conners this year include a T5 at the Sentry and a T24 at the Genesis Invitational. 

The Canadian golfer has competed at the Scottish Open on four occasions, with results of MC in 2021, T61 in 2022, T19 in 2023, and T10 in 2024. 

Conners has played well this season and can emerge victorious in Scotland this weekend. 

Verdict

Fleetwood has been playing excellent golf lately and can lift the winning trophy at the Renaissance Club come Sunday.
 
Morikawa was in solid form in his previous tournament, and a repeat performance can see him make the frame at the Scottish Open.

Burns has regained this touch lately and can feature prominently in Scotland this weekend.
 
Conners has been thereabouts this season and will be in the mix come Sunday.
