Trayvon Bromell is the clear favourite to win gold in the men's 100m sprint. The bookmakers have given Ronnie Baker and South Africa's Akani Simbine an outside chance of taking first place.

For the last 12 years the event has been dominated by Usain Bolt, who has won the last three gold's in this event. While the legend will be missed, it is the first time in some time where the race seems quite open.

The 26-year-old Trayvon Bromell won bronze at the World Championships in 2015 and claimed gold in the 60m indoor sprint in 2016. He has suffered a couple of serious injuries but has bounced back well to qualify for Team USA.

He also boasts the fastest time recorded this year (9.77 seconds), so it is no surprise to see the bookies backing him at 2.00.

Ronnie Baker is second favourite at 6.50 with betway having finished second in the US trials.

South African star Akani Simbine is in the form of his life, He won at the Diamond League in June this year and is priced at 7.00.
