Bafana Bafana’s 20 domestically-based players

With news that the South African national team would only arrive back on local shores on Wednesday, the PSL took the decision to postpone the midweek round due to take place on 13 and 14 February.

Not only were there 20 DSTV Premiership players in the Bafana Bafana squad, but both Ivory Coast and Nigeria had a PSL player involved in Sunday’s CAF African Cup of Nations final.

Chippa United’s Stanley Nwabali started the showpiece as Nigeria were beaten. Sekhukhune United’s Badra Ali Sangaré was included in the Ivory Coast squad and was a substitute as the Elephants lifted the crown on home soil.
