Sharks vs Western Province Predictions
These two sides are bottom of the Currie Cup table and neither have a win in the opening four rounds. It should be an interesting contest but also one they will both want to win as relegation is open at the end of the season. The Sharks’ improvements over the last two rounds has me backing them to win by 1-12 points.

Head to Head
Last season the Sharks beat Western Province 31-23 in Cape Town.
Sharks Form
The Sharks are bottom of the 2025 Currie Cup table after four defeats in their opening four matches. They have a -116 points difference as well.
The Durban-based outfit began the season with a 46-5 loss at the Lions before being thrashed 64-0 at Loftus by the Bulls. Since then, performances have improved slightly with a 7-5 home loss to the Cheetahs.
Last weekend, the Sharks were quite competitive in Kimberley, going down 26-17 to Griquas.
Sharks Team News
The Sharks have a young, inexperienced squad, just like their opponents. Expect the Sharks to go with their strongest available side in an attempt to get a win.
Western Province Form
Western Province have also made an atrocious start to the Currie Cup, losing all four matches. They are above the Sharks with a superior points difference.
WP lost 48-23 at home to the Bulls on the opening weekend before losing 40-19 at the Lions. That was followed by a 47-17 loss in Kimberley to Griquas.
Last weekend, Province put in perhaps their best performance, losing 31-24 to the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.
Western Province Team News
Western Province just don’t have the squad to compete consistently at this level with all their URC players not playing. There will be changes this weekend, however, what difference that will make we will find out.
Verdict
Sharks are set for a win by 1-12 points over Western Province.
