Western Province vs Sharks Predictions
Western Province have only managed to beat the Griffons (twice) this season. While they have come close to others on occasion, the results have not gone their way. I fancy the Sharks to cover the -2 handicap in this clash.

Head to Head
Last season, Western Province beat the Sharks 44-5 in the final round robin match.
Western Province Form
Western Province are currently sixth on the Currie Cup table after seven matches. They have managed just two victories and with three games left, a playoff looks unlikely.
That said, a good run in the finals weeks can still get them into fourth place, should others falter. Province only two victories in the 2024 Currie Cup have come against bottom-of-the-table, Griffons.
Last week Province were humbled 41-22 by the Lions in Johannesburg. Before that, the blue and white stripes lost by seven points at home to the Cheetahs.
Western Province Injuries & Team News
Western Province have a good crop of young players but they haven’t quite put it together this season. I do expect a few changes this Saturday.
Sharks Form
The Sharks have endured a strange season, but they are on the up. Currently in fourth place, the Durban-based outfit looks set for a semi-final berth and will certainly have hopes of still claiming third.
The Sharks lost their opening three games of the tournament before beating the Lions away from home in round four. They then drew 44-44 against the Pumas and beat Griquas 40-21.
Last week, the Sharks caused an upset in Bloemfontein, beating the defending champions, Cheetahs 25-20 with a late score.
Sharks Injuries & Team News
The Sharks are in good form at the moment, unbeaten in their last 4 matches. I suspect they will once again field a similar side to last weekend.
Verdict
I am backing the Sharks to win a close contest in Cape Town. The -2 handicap is in play.
