In the Premiership, Exeter have been performing well at home. They defeated Newcastle 38-15, Harlequins 38-0, Gloucester 39-12, and the Leicester Tigers 24-10 before losing 8-3 to Bristol.

Exeter are 5th in the Premiership table with 35 points from ten matches.

Exeter will fancy their chances against the Sale Sharks, as they have defeated their opponents in eight of their nine meetings at home, and they have won 11 of their 12 games in their own backyard.

Sale Sharks Form

Sale Sharks failed to progress out of the group stage in their recent Premiership Rugby Cup campaign.

In the Premiership, Sale Sharks have failed to win an away match. They lost to Bath 28-16, to Saracens 65-14, to Leicester Tigers 36-35, to Northampton Saints 47-21, and to Bristol 19-17.

Sale Sharks have been struggling with form in their away matches recently, losing five of their last six, and they have a poor record away to Exeter.

Team News

Exeter

Director of rugby Rob Baxter has stated that his team need to improve their performance against the Sale Sharks after their disappointing loss in the recent Premiership Rugby Cup: "Yes we've got some internationals back, yes we've got some rested up guys, we've got a couple of injured guys back.

"But ultimately these guys are going to have to play a lot better than that if we're going to have even any chance when we play Sale.

"If we let this slap in the face keep us slapped it's going to be a tough week next week and we've got to bounce back from that pretty quickly."

Sale Sharks

Sale have urged England international Tom Curry to miss the upcoming Test matches to protect his long-term career.

Dan du Preez will leave the Sharks at the end of the season and join Bath.

Fellow South African Cebo Dlamini has signed a two-year deal ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Verdict

Exeter have played their best rugby at home this season and are tipped to cover the -7.5 handicap in their Premiership Rugby match against the Sale Sharks.
