Glasgow Warriors vs Benetton Predictions

The Glasgow Warriors are on a winning streak against Benetton at home and have played their best rugby at their stadium this season. Benetton have struggled on the road in the URC during their campaign.

  • Glasgow Warriors have won 4 of their last 5 fixtures in all competitions.
  • Glasgow Warriors have won 10 consecutive home matches in all competitions.
  • Glasgow Warriors have won 10 consecutive home games against Benetton.
  • Benetton have won 3 of their last 5 away fixtures in all competitions.
  • Benetton have won 2 consecutive matches against the Glasgow Warriors.

Head to Head

The Glasgow Warriors have a commanding lead of 20 victories to eight over Benetton, including one draw in 28 meetings.

The Glasgow Warriors lost 16-14 away to Benetton earlier this season.

Glasgow Warriors Form

The Glasgow Warriors made a statement in their home match against Leinster last weekend, winning 38-17 after an excellent first-half display that saw them lead 26-12 at the break.

Glasgow have been in superb form at home in the URC this season. They defeated the Sharks 35-19, the Dragons 49-0, the Bulls 21-12, Edinburgh 24-12, Zebre 47-10, and Munster 31-22.

Glasgow are first in the United Rugby Championship standings with 50 points from 13 games.

The Glasgow Warriors have been in fine fettle at home this season, winning ten in a row, and they will relish the chance to turn the tables on Benetton, having defeated their opponents in their own backyard ten times consecutively.

Benetton Form

Benetton produced a solid second-half display against the Ospreys last weekend, winning 31-19 at home after leading their opponents 14-5 at half-time.

Benetton have had limited success on the road in the URC this season. They lost 26-15 to Connacht, 43-0 to Edinburgh, 47-13 to Ulster, beat Zebre 37-23, and lost 17-8 to Cardiff before drawing 15-15 with the Dragons.

Benetton are 12th in the United Rugby Championship table with 28 points from 13 matches.

Benetton have struggled to consistently secure results on the road in the league this season, and have a tough assignment against the Glasgow Warriors, as their hosts are on a winning streak at home.

Team News

Glasgow Warriors

Head coach Franco Smith highlighted the reason for his team's impressive victory over Leinster last weekend: “It’s the way we train and the way we try to develop the game.

“I think the game is going that way. If you look at the Six Nations, there were a lot of tries scored. It’s maybe what’s demanded of the game now.

“That is the ingredient that brings enthusiasm to club rugby as well.

“We were going to try and score as many tries as possible, but I didn’t think we would get to that many. I thought we played really well. I was really proud of the boys.”

Gregor Hiddleston has extended his contract with the Glasgow Warriors until 2028.

Benetton

Fijian winger Onisi Ratave has signed a one-year extension on his contract.

Centre Josh Flook and lock Isaia Walker-Leawere have also recently signed for Benetton.

Verdict

The Glasgow Warriors have an outstanding record against Benetton at home and are tipped to cover the -17.5 handicap.
