This is a match between the two top sides in the URC, but unfortunately, both sides will be playing with largely second-string sides due to international commitments. Leinster have more depth in their squad to I fancy them to run away with it at home.

Leinster are top of the URC table after nine games with seven wins and two defeats. They are two points clear of their opponents, Benetton.

The Irish giants have been in superb form, winning 11 of their last 13 matches in all competitions. They lost on the opening weekend of the URC and then against by a point to Ulster on New Years Day. Other than that, Leinster have been close to perfect.

Prior to the break for the Six Nations, Leinster won both Champions Cup games. They thrashed Stade Francais 43-7 at home and then beat Leicester Tigers 27-10 away.

Leinster are missing more players that any other side to the Six Nations with almost the entirety of their first-choice players in the Ireland squad. However, Leinster have fantastic depth and should be able to select a strong side.

Benetton Form

Benetton are having the season of their lives. They are currently second on the table, just two points off Leinster in the URC. The Italians have only lost once in the URC although they drew one fixture as well.

Currently Benetton are on a five-match winning streak in all competitions. They beat Perpignan at home, Zebre home and away and then defeated Newcastle away in the Challenge Cup.

Benetton’s last match took place on 20 January, a fixture they won 27-19 at home against Montpellier. Their last defeat came on 9 December 2023 when they lost at Ospreys.

The majority of Benetton’s squad is with the Italian national side for the Six Nations, much the same as Leinster. However, Benetton do not have the depth of the Irish side so they may struggle this weekend.
