Munster have had one of their poorer seasons to date and currently find themselves eighth on the table. They have nine wins, a draw and seven losses in 17 games.
Victory at home this Friday will at least ensure a playoff spot in the URC, but defeat could see them drop out altogether. Munster beat Connacht at the end of March before upsetting the odds by knocking La Rochelle out of the Champions Cup.
A week later, Munster fell short against Bordeaux in the same competition. They then lost 16-13 at home to the Bulls in the URC and 26-21 at Cardiff. Last weekend, Munster managed to put themselves back into the top eight, beating Ulster 38-20 at home.

Benetton Form
Benetton come into this fixture placed seventh, on place above Munster but on points difference. The winner will make the playoffs while the loser could miss out completely, depending on other results.
Benetton’s form has been inconsistent of late but overall, they’ve enjoyed a good season. At home, the Italian side has proven tough to beat, but they have often struggled on the road.
However, Benetton did beat the Lions 42-31 away from home before losing 56-5 to the Stormers in Cape Town. Back at home last week, Benetton defeated Glasgow 33-7.
