Scarlets have been woeful this season and while Munster have been average by their standards, I still fancy the defending champions to cover the -8 handicap on Friday.

Scarlets have endured a tough season to date, winning just two of their nine matches in the URC. They are currently 13th on the table.

The Welsh outfit have not won since beating Cardiff away in early December 2023. Since then, they have lost six matches in all competitions.

Prior to the break for the Six Nations, the Welsh side lost to Clermont and Edinburgh in the Challenge Cup. In neither game in Scarlets at any point look like they were about to challenge for the game.

Scarlets season can’t really get much worse, but they will hope to turn their fortunes around. A home win over the defending URC champions will go a long way to doing that, but they are missing key players to the Welsh national side.

Munster Form

Munster have been distinctly averages this season as they attempt to defend the title, they won last season. Currently the champions are 11th on the table with four wins, four defeats and a draw.

Not that this will worry the Irish outfit, they were worse off last season at this stage but found form late on to beat all challengers. Munster lost their last match in the Champions Cup 26-23 at home to Northampton.

Munster did beat Toulon 29-18 away the week before but lost their last two matches in the URC. In fact, Munster have only managed one win in their last six matches.
