The Bulls have been the URC runners-up in three of the four years they have participated in the tournament. This season, they have again begun well, at least from a results perspective, they have won their opening two games.
In round one, the Bulls defeated Ospreys 53-40 at home, but the performance was hardly convincing. Ospreys led that game at the break and just couldn’t maintain the performance over 80 minutes.
Last week against Leinster, the Bulls again needed second half points to secure a 39-31 victory. For large periods, it looked like a weakened Leinster may get the result.
The Bulls are in a transitional phase after changing coaches, but they will quickly need to find their feet on this European tour.
