Not much is known about either side as the players from last year have mostly moved on. However, Argentina should be a challenge, I’m backing a South African win by less than 10 points.

Last year South Africa beat Argentina U20 30-28.

South Africa U20 would have been disappointed with their 2024 showing overall. They had good moments during the U20 Rugby Championship and World Cup but mostly flattered to deceive.

During the Rugby Championship, the Baby Boks got a credible 13-13 draw in New Zealand in round one before losing 24-19 to Australia a week later.

Round three saw the South Africans win 30-28 against Argentina but they were fortunate to get the victory on that occasion.

Argentina U-20 Form

Argentina are quickly improving as a rugby nation with their senior team already a threat to the top nations. They are also starting to produce at age-group level.

During the 2024 Rugby Championship, the Junior Pumas beat Australia 25-6 away from home, a very impressive result. That was followed by a 43-20 defeat to the New Zealanders.

In the final round, Argentina looked poised for victory, only to suffer a 30-28 defeat to South Africa U20.
