South Africa are set for a thrilling schedule of 14 matches for the 2025 season, their highest since 2007. This includes two away matches against rivals New Zealand and a high-stakes end-of-year tour.

Last season, South Africa delivered a dominant display against their southern hemisphere rivals in the 2024 Rugby Championship, winning their first title since 2019—and fifth overall—after securing five victories from six matches during the tournament.

The Springboks defeated rivals New Zealand and Australia twice each during their campaign, with their only loss coming against Argentina away from home before thrashing the Pumas in the return leg on home soil.

For the season ahead, the Springboks have a golden opportunity to rewrite the history books when they seek to beat New Zealand at Eden Park in Auckland for the first time since 1937.

However, South Africa faces a monumental task, as the All Blacks have not lost at their spiritual home since France's 23-20 victory in 1994—a 50‑match unbeaten run that makes it arguably the toughest venue in world rugby.

In November, the Springboks will face France at the Stade de France in a rematch of the 2023 Rugby World Cup quarter-final, widely regarded as one of the greatest matches in rugby history.
