Both teams have won one and lost one coming into this final fixture. It is basically a must-win for both sides, although England U20 will be the one with more confidence. I’m backing England to cover the -15 handicap.

These two have not met recently.

England U20 Form

England lost out to France in the U20 Six Nations earlier this year after a surprising defeat to Wales. After beating the French, England were expected to win back-to-back titles, but that defeat cost them dearly.

However, England U20 came into the World Rugby Championship as defending champions as well. They won their opening game 56-19 against Scotland, showing all their class over 80 minutes.

Last time out, despite going into the game as favourites, England were outplayed by a superior Junior Springbok side. England U20 lost the game 32-22.

Australia U20 Form

Australia U20 had a good start to their 2025 season, coming second in the U20 Rugby Championship. They were brilliant against New Zealand, forcing a draw and then came from behind to beat South Africa. They also defeated Argentina.

That promise was quickly crushed in the World Rugby Championship though. Coming up against South Africa in their opener, Australia just couldn’t maintain the pace of the game and their defence struggled hugely. They were hammered 73-17.

The Junior Wallabies sort of made up for that loss against Scotland, winning 34-24 but they really needed a more convincing win to get some confidence back.
