Japan beat Scotland when they met at the Rugby World Cup but on home soil Scotland should have enough. Japan are however playing good rugby bar for their one poor performance against Ireland. My best bet is for Japan to lose by less than 19 points.

The hosts were outplayed for the majority of the game against South Africa but face a very different test against Japan. The Brave Blossoms will move the ball a lot quicker with less reliance of physical prowess.

Gregor Townsend has made seven changes to the side that lost to South Africa.

Javan Sebastian and Dylan Richardson are both sent to make their debuts for Scotland this weekend. George Turner returns to hooker from injury while Jamie Bhatti joins in the front-row.

Scott Cummins and Josh Bayliss also come into the side.

Japan Form

Japan have continued to impress in 2021 after their magnificent showing at the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Prior to departing for Europe, Japan narrowly lost out 33-22 at home to Australia. In what has perhaps been their worst performance in recent years, the Brave Blossoms got hammered 60-5 by a rampant Irish outfit.

Last week Japan saw off Portugal 38-25 away. It was a much-changed side by Japan as they look to build some depth.
