Uruguay have struggled to get results in recent outings but have defeated Romania lately. Romania suffered a loss against Chile last weekend.

  • Uruguay have lost 4 of their last 5 matches.
  • Uruguay have won 2 of their last 5 home fixtures.
  • Romania have won 2 of their last 5 away fixtures.
  • Romania have lost 3 successive times to Uruguay.

Head to Head

Romania have a slight edge with five victories to four against Uruguay in nine meetings.

Uruguay Form

Uruguay have lacked consistency at home in their last five matches. They beat Argentina-A 33-13 and Namibia 36-26 before losing 43-28 to France-A, 79-5 to Argentina, and 31-19 to Scotland.

Uruguay have not performed well in recent matches, but they often play their best rugby at home and have defeated Romania three times in a row, which gives them the edge needed to get the result.

Romania Form

Romania suffered their first-ever defeat against Chile last weekend, losing 40-16 away from home.

Romania scored two penalties and a converted try in the first half against Chile, going into the break trailing by ten points.

Romania could only add a penalty to their score in the second half, as Chile cruised to an easy 40-16 victory.

Before that disappointing result, Romania defeated the USA 22-20, lost 35-22 to Canada, defeated Belgium 31-14, and lost 43-5 to Georgia before beating Portugal 21-7 in their last five away fixtures.

Romania have rested many of their best players for this tour to South America and will have to dig deep after registering their first loss against Chile last weekend. Can they bounce against Uruguay?

Romania Team News & Injuries

Toni Maftei scored the only try for Romania against Chile last weekend.

Alin Conache slotted two penalties, while Tudor Boldor kicked over a penalty and a conversion.
