Scotland vs France Predictions

France have yet to really be challenged in the opening three rounds, but this could just be the game that they are. Scotland are a bit inconsistent, and on their day, can certainly challenge the best sides in the world.

This is a must-win for Scotland who are four points behind France in top spot – defeat will end their chances of a first-ever Six Nations title.

  • Scotland have won their last 2 matches.
  • Scotland lost by 4 points in their last home encounter against France.
  • France have won their last 3 matches.
  • France have scored 4+ tries in their last 3 matches.
  • France have scored 18 tries in their last 3 matches.
  • France have won 4 of their last 5 matches against Scotland.

Head to Head

France have won four of their last five matches against Scotland. Last season France won 35-16 in France but their last clash at Murrayfield saw the French sneak home with a 20-16 success.

Scotland Form

Scotland are second on the Six Nations table (perhaps third if Ireland beat Wales on Friday night) and come into this match with a real chance of claiming their first ever Six Nations title.

The Scots will still be kicking themselves after losing 18-15 in Italy in round one, a game that had they won, they’d be right up there with France. Despite that disappointing result, Scotland turned up on the biggest stage to beat England 31-20 at Murrayfield in round two.

Round three did not go according to plan, at least originally as Wales took a comfortable lead into the half time break. However, Scotland fought back to win 26-23 in Cardiff, but their slow start will be of concern.

France Form

France have been at their imperious best in the opening three rounds of the 2026 Six Nations. They sit comfortably at the top of the table and victory here will all but secure the title.

The French have picked up four-try bonus points in all three matches thus far. They thrashed Ireland 36-14 in the opening round before putting 50 past Wales in Cardiff.

In round three, France defeated Italy 33-8 on home soil. It was tougher than perhaps expected but France got the job done with relative comfort.
