Brumbies vs Hurricanes Predictions
This should be a very interesting clash. The Brumbies are generally very good at home but they have had two poor defeats this season, albeit on the road. The Hurricanes on the other hand have won all eight games this season, scoring 36+ points in their last four.

The handicap is set at five points in favour of the visitors, but they are likely to falter at some point. This may be the weekend given the Brumbies home record. I am backing the hosts to come out on top.
- Brumbies have won 11 of their last 12 matches at the GIO Stadium.
- Brumbies have won 4 of their last 5 matches against the Hurricanes.
- Hurricanes have won their last 8 matches.
- Hurricanes are top of the Super Rugby table.
Head to Head
Brumbies have won four of their last five matches against the Hurricanes. Their last meeting in 2023 saw the Brumbies win 37-33.
Brumbies Form
The Brumbies are third on the table with six wins from their eight games to date. Their two defeats have however been heavy ones, both to New Zealand opposition.
That said, the Canberra-outfit have yet to lose on home soil in three games this season. Over the last three weeks, the Brumbies have beaten the Reds 20-19 away, the Waratahs 40-16 at home and lost away to the Blues last weekend.
The latter result was a poor performance as the Brumbies crumbled in Auckland, losing 46-7.
Brumbies Injuries & Team News
The Brumbies will be at full-strength given the magnitude of this fixture. Victory will put them right back in the challenge for top spot.
Hurricanes Form
The Hurricanes are flying at the moment with eight wins on the bounce. They are top of the table by five points and 10 clear of the Brumbies in third.
The Wellington side have been comfortable winners in the last four rounds. Since beating the Crusaders 14-10, the Canes have beaten the Rebels 54-28, the Highlanders 47-12, the Chiefs 36-23 and last week Fijian Drua 38-15 away from home.
While they were favourites last weekend, the Drua have been very good at home so to win that comfortably took some performance from the Hurricanes.
Hurricanes Injuries & Team News
The Hurricanes do have to rest internationals on and off throughout the season. However, I don’t think this will be one of those games as victory here will almost certainly make it a two-horse race for the top spot.
Verdict
I am backing the Brumbies to get inside five points and perhaps win on home soil.
