Chiefs vs Moana Predictions

Moana come into this game in fine form with three straight wins. However, the Chiefs have yet to lose at home this season, which may prove a step too far for Moana. I am backing the hosts to cover the -18.5 handicap.

Head to Head

Chiefs have won all six games against Moana previously.

Chiefs Form

The Chiefs go into this match placed third on the table, four points off the Crusaders who are top and two points off the Brumbies in second. The Chiefs do, however, have a game in hand so any victory here will put them at the top heading into the round week next weekend.

Over the course of the season, the Chiefs have been dominant at home with all three defeats coming on the road. Three of their last four games have ended in victory, losing only away to the Hurricanes.

Last weekend, the Chiefs had a bye and the week before they were superb, defeating the Crusaders 35-19 away from home.

Moana Form

Moana Pasifika have been simply superb this season. They have struggled since joining Super Rugby but took it up a gear this season and are currently placed sixth on the table.

Pasifika have won their last three games, their longest ever winning streak. After a 24-0 loss to the Brumbies in mid-April, Moana beat Fijian Drua 34-15. That was followed by a 34-29 victory away from home against the Highlanders.

Last week, Moana again stepped up in Auckland, beating the Blues 27-21 in a cracking game of rugby.
