Moana vs Chiefs Predictions - Chiefs backed for big win against Moana

Chiefs have won all four matches against Moana and beat them 68-12 just a month ago.

Moana have won just three of their seven matches this season and currently sit ninth on the table. They have 14 points, three off Fijian Drua in the final playoff spot.

While on the face of it, Moana have struggled this season, they have in fact improved drastically from last season. However, their inconsistency remains as they often concede plenty of points when things don’t go their way.

Last week, Moana lost 28-17 at home to the Highlanders. They kept it competitive for most of the game, but the Highlanders quality was too much in the end.

Prior to that, Moana beat the Reds and lost by seven points to Fijian Drua, so their last three games have at least remained competitive.

Moana have been good in the last three weeks so they will want to stick to the same side. I expect a few changes but only minor ones to keep the side fresh.

The Chiefs are fourth on the Super Rugby table with seven wins and three defeats. They are just two points off the Brumbies in third and nine off the Hurricanes at the top.

While it hasn’t been an ‘almost’ perfect season like last time out, the Chiefs are still in with a big shout this year. Their recent form has also been quite impressive.

The Hamilton outfit have won three of their last four with the defeat coming at the Hurricanes. They put 60+ on Moana at home at the start of April, beat the Waratahs away and last week thrashed the Western Force 56-7.

The Chiefs will fancy their chances in this game and may opt to rest a few key players.
