Rebels vs Brumbies Predictions
The Brumbies have dominated this fixture in recent seasons, winning their last five games. I am backing the Canberra side to cover the -6 handicap.

- Rebels lost 10 of their last 14 Super Rugby matches.
- Brumbies won 11 of their last 16 Super Rugby matches.
- Brumbies have covered the -6 handicap in their last 4 matches against the Rebels.
- Brumbies have won their last 5 matches against the Rebels.
Head to Head
The Brumbies won their last match 33-17 against the Rebels at home. Overall, the Brumbies have won their last five against the Melbourne side, only one of which has been by less than six points.
Rebels Form
The Rebels finished last season second from bottom on 21 points. They only managed four victories in their 14 games, but there were some positives for the Melbourne side.
Of all the teams near the bottom, the Rebels had by far the best points difference of negative 78. That was because there were a number of defeats that could have easily gone the other way which would have resulted in a very different season.
Rebels Injuries & Team News
The Rebels have some big names in Alex Mafi, Filipo Daugunu and Andrew Kellaway, but they will have to get the less experienced players to their level to compete regularly this season.
Brumbies Form
The Brumbies began last season on fire, flying to the top of the table where they spent much of the time alongside the Chiefs. The mid-season slump knocked them down a bit, but they still managed a fourth place finish, the top Aussie side in the competition.
Of their 14 matches, the Brumbies won 10 games, the exact same record and second and third place. But the Brumbies didn’t manage to pick up the bonus points that the others did.
In the quarter-final, the Canberra-based outfit beat the Hurricanes 37-34 at home in an absolute thriller. A week later, away from home, the Brumbies came up short 19-6 against the Chiefs.
Brumbies Injuries & Team News
The Brumbies have much the same squad as last season with plenty of Wallaby internationals. Allan Alaalatoa, Len Ikitau, Ryan Lonergan, Noah Lolesio and Rob Valentini will all be looking forward to another impressive season.
Verdict
The Brumbies are backed to cover the -6 handicap and perhaps win by more than 13 points.
