Western Force vs Waratahs Predictions

This is a very tough game to call the final playoff spot up for grabs. Both teams are on lengthy losing streaks, however, the Tahs’ have lost all five away games this season by comfortable margins. Therefore, I am backing the Force to get back to winning way with a win by more than 3.5 points.

Head to Head

Waratahs have won four of their last five matches against the Western Force. That includes a 34-10 win at home earlier this season.

Western Force Form

The Western Force has shown glimpses this season of what they are capable of, but their recent form has been somewhat standard. They are currently ninth on 22 points, level with the Waratahs who are eighth

A strong first half of the season saw the Force challenge higher up the table but their recent run has left much to be desired. After beating the Highlanders at home and drawing against the Hurricanes, they lost four in a row.

Two heavy defeats in New Zealand against the Chiefs and Blues was followed by a home defeat to the Brumbies and another away loss to Fijian Drua last weekend.

This is simply a must-win game for the Force as it is their last of the season. Anything other than a win and their top eight hopes are gone.

Waratahs Form

The Waratahs currently hold eighth place on the table and victory will see them remain there. They cannot go up or further down, unless they lose to the Force.

The concern for the Sydney side will be that they have yet to win away from home this season. Their home form carried them, winning their first five games, however, they have even lost their last two at home.

Overall, the Waratahs have suffered four successive losses after beating the Chiefs in Sydney on 11 April. Last week they went down 48-33 to the Crusaders at home and the week before 28-21 to the Reds, also at home.
