Head coach Ono Akiyuki stated that his team made too many mistakes in their loss to Kobe Steel last weekend: "As a team, we thought it was important to get off to a good start in the new year, to move on from the loss in the previous match, and to bring the club's spirit to the forefront. I think we were able to do that to a certain extent. On the other hand, we made too many errors that we could have controlled, which ultimately led to the result we had. I feel that we need to make sure we fix that."

Honda

Head coach Ciaran Crowley was not pleased with his side's performance against the Kubota Spears: "I don't have much to say. In the first half, I think it was a complete disgrace. We couldn't make any tackles, we couldn't control the ball at all. I think in the second half we were a little bit better, but the game was already decided at that point."
