Toyota Shuttles added three converted tries and a penalty in the second half to secure a narrow 43-32 home win against the Urayasu D-Rocks in their Japan Rugby League One first-leg relegation playoff match. 

The Toyota Shuttles beat the Shimizu Blue Sharks 47-15, the Red Hurricanes 21-7, the Kamaishi Seawaves 40-23, and lost to the Green Rockets 15-8 before defeating the Hino Red Dolphins 61-24 in their last five away fixtures. 

Toyota Industries Shuttles won the Japan Rugby League One second division this season with 52 points from 14 games. 

The Toyota Shuttles did just enough to win their first-leg relegation playoff match against the Urayasu D-Rocks, but will find the going tough in the return leg, as they have lost six of their seven encounters against their hosts.

Hiroaki Saito scored a brace against Urayasu D-Rocks last weekend. 

Taleni Seu, Go Nakano, and Isileli Manu contributed a try each.
